WHO ARE WE?
Forbidden Films is a documentary production company created in 2019 by Laurent Richard and belongs to the international organization Forbidden Stories, a global consortium of investigative journalists.
Committed to innovation in storytelling techniques, Laurent Richard and the Forbidden Films team share a passion for the storytelling of complex investigations.
Forbidden Films previously produced Project Cartel (70 min, France 5) and Green blood in 2019, (4x52 min, France 5). Shot in India, Guatemala, Tanzania and Europe, the film follows in real time the work of sixty of the world's top investigative journalists, exposing several environmental scandals on several continents. It won the Europa Award for best European documentary series in 2020.
Forbidden Films is currently producing several documentaries for European and American Channels.

Laurent Richard
Producer
Laurent Richard is a journalist, producer and director of investigative documentaries.
He is the founder of Forbidden Stories, an international consortium of journalists pursuing the investigations of reporters threatened, imprisoned or murdered around the world, created in September 2017.
He is the author of numerous documentaries broadcast on France Télévisions, Arte, Canal +, PBS America, ...
Sandrine Rigaud
Producer
Sandrine Rigaud is an investigative journalist and producer. She has made long-form documentaries for television and investigated numerous economic sectors, notably at the Premières Lignes Télévision agency where she worked for 4 years.
Her investigations for the program "Cash Investigation" (France 2) on forced labor in Uzbekistan, the lobbying of the food industry or plastics have been selected and awarded by many festivals.
Thierry Mangeard
Production Manager
Thierry Mangeard is a production manager. For more than 10 years, he has been working on documentary and fiction film and series projects for leading production companies.
Since 2020, he has been directing the productions of Forbidden Films.
He graduated from ESRA Paris and specialized in audiovisual production.
Louis Goncalves
Production assistant
Louis Goncalves joined Forbidden Films as a production assistant in March 2020.
Prior to joining the team, he worked in international documentary production and distribution for the BBC and Kwanza.
He graduated from EFAP in communication and holds a master's degree in audiovisual production.

Benoît Bringer
Director
Benoît Bringer is an award-winning French filmmaker and author. He is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) team that received the Pulitzer Prize for the Panama Papers investigation.
In a highly cinematic style, his films tell inspiring, often intimate stories that address important universal issues.
Jules Giraudat
Director
Jules Giraudat is an investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker.
He coordinated the work of 45 journalists of the "Daphne Project", the "Green Blood" project and participated in the "Deadly Border" project.
Investigations that led him to work in the field in Colombia, Tanzania, India or Malta to pursue the work of journalists threatened, imprisoned or murdered.
Arthur Bouvart
Director
Arthur Bouvart is an investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker.
He previously worked as a reporter for Premières Lignes Television, where he made documentaries, notably on chemical pollution in India, the Netherlands and the United States, for French television channels (France 5, Canal +, Arte).
Alexis Marant
Director
Alexis Marant was an image reporter for ten years before moving on to documentary filmmaking.
He has shot, directed and co-directed more than 20 documentary films, mainly for French and European broadcasters.
His films have been nominated in numerous festivals and he has won several awards, including the most prestigious in France, the Albert Londres Award, in 2006.
